Density
Density-dependentIn a coral reef if too many fish are there a food shortage will occur and many of the fish will die.
In the great barrier reef if coral continues to reproduce at a steady rate the coral will end up overcrowded and some of it will die. |
Density-independentHuman interaction comes into play here! Fishing is a density-independent factor because the fishermen do not care how many fish are in an area, they just want the most fish.
If a tsunami were to occur the fish that were in the area where the tsunami took place would move inland with the tsunami and die. |
